GIOVANNI POSSENTE

Director Logistics and Operations

With over 13 years of experience in logistics, Giovanni Possente commits himself to always achieve excellence in all the processes related to Supply Chain Management. From Business Development, Logistics, and Procurement to Customer Service, and Outsourcing, Giovanni demonstrates the ideal qualities of servant leadership.

As a Plant Manager at Polenghi Food, Giovanni gained experience in directing, coordinating, and managing plant operations. Throughout this management experience, he reduced financial and production waste using Lean Six Sigma as a guide. This allowed for production objectives to be achieved at the lowest cost consistent with quality requirements while maintaining compliance to Federal, State, and Local Safety and Environmental regulations and laws.

Beyond the warehouse, Giovanni has managed Demand Planning, returnable containers, Customer Service Export/Imports, and improved performance analysis through Transport Management Systems. His management has prioritized cost minimization: monitoring reverse logistics and route causes, reuse of returned products, conversion of by-product waste, and identifying opportunities to reuse or recycle materials in order to minimize expenditures.

During Giovanni’s decade-long tenure as the Head of Supply Chain Management at SABMiller, he coordinated a team of 78 individuals across 17 production plants and 8 Supply Chain Desks, utilizing error-reduction concepts based on Total Quality Management. His background includes Demand Planning, Production planning, capacity planning and MRP in the short, medium and long term period.
